Alone

A fear I once thought
had fallen away
tickled the soft walls
of my heart today
Yet the thing itself
the object of my fear
was not what urged
my blind eyes to tear
What squirmed in my mind
what quivered each bone
was the thought of having
to face it alone

  1. I love this. I recall the evening you wrote this and you wanting help with an arachnid that Hannah discovered, announced its presence, then quickly vacated, leaving you to handle it alone. I am sure it didn't feel very pleasant. When no one else is there, God is. God is always there. (God likes spiders, BTW.) I love you.
